The design process for Hansroy Chair started as a love letter hybrid of Sam’s two favorite chairs. From that starting point the proportions and shape of the chair were changed maximize its versatility.

First, The lower back rail is at a proper angle to promote good posture, while the top back rail is angled more for lounging. Second, the two cross stretchers allow for bags to be placed under the chair without touching the ground. Finally, the atypical chair rails allows the seat of the chair to be woven, solid, or upholstered.
